Double-headed delights at Levisham for the next two weekends. The NYMR spring Steam Gala started in glorious Levisham sunshine today so Chris has, of course, mounted a suitable exhibition of railway work And there is extra interest this year as we have put up for sale our two steam loco nameplates. First, the much sought-after “Snapper” – possibly the longest British nameplate and certainly one of only eight named V2s in the much admired class of 183 Sir Nigel Gresley-designed LNER 2-6-2 locos. Then we are also selling our King Arthur Class 1926 “Sir Meliot de Logres”. Two pieces of rare railwayana which are keeping the Gala enthusiasts gossiping.
