Check here for opening times.
You can arrive in style by steam, foot or car.
Trains pause every hour for our famous peace and quiet and to sample the Weighbridge tea hut at weekends… as well as my pictures (check here for days when my art studio is open). There’s also a station exhibition, plenty of wildlife from deer and hawks to rare butterflies and wild flowers. The Horseshoe Inn serves good food and real ale, a spectacular 45 minutes walk up-hill to the village.
Come and soak up the calmer karma!
- By train: from Pickering, Goathland (pronounced with a ‘th’ not a ‘t’!), Grosmont (with a ‘w’ not a ‘s’) or even Whitby on some trains – check the timetable.
- By car: take the A169 Pickering to Whitby road and turn off through Lockton. Go through the hilltop Levisham village and on for a mile and a half down a beautiful descent to the station.
- By foot: the hardy and healthy arrive via a myriad of footpaths across the magnificent moors. I keep an eye on which paths are in best condition, so feel free to ring the studio to check first.
